THIRD WEEK.
TARIFF COMMISSION.
HEARING OF EVIDENCE
The Tariff Commission will enter tho third week of its Auckland sittings on Monday, when evidence will be heard on a formidable list of items. A diversified range includes gas heating and cooking appliances, gas engines, cast iron, crude oil, refractory materials, tennis gut skins, paper patterns, dry white lead, drugs, horseshoes, tobacfo pipes and pouches, clocks and wr.tclies, cigarette papers, golf clubs and parts, and perfumery. Evidence will also be tendered on behalf of the fruit-growing industry.
During the past fortnight many facts and figures have been placed before the Commission, and a large part of the testimony has been of a technical nature. It is doubtful whether it will be possible to conclude the sittings here by the end of the week.
