TOURNEY AT HAMILTON. WAIKATO CHAMPIONSHIPS. W. PURDIE TAKES THE WELTER. Fifty boxers from all parts of the province competed at the Waikato championships, held at the Y.M.C.A. Stadium, Hamilton, on Saturday afternoon and evening. The Branton Memorial Cup for the most scientific boxer was won by -It. Wilson, of Hamilton, who was successful in the bantam-weight class.
