AUCKLAND CLUB

Perfect weather conditions prevailed on Saturday lor the Auckland Cycle Club's events at Tamaki, which were a junior ra< e of 5J miles and a 20J miles time trial ami sealed handicap for seniors. In the latter event the riders drew for positions and were dispatched at half-minute Intervals to ride unpaccd against the watch. Thirtyfour riders started. The junior race resulted:— K. Clarke (2.0), 1; \V. Bickuell (2.15), 2; D. Jack (2.0), 3; J. Bickueli (4.0J, 4. I'. F.leknell recorded fastest time in 14.55, lowering the record by 355. The time trial resulted :—K. LYNNDALE AMATEURS.

Ideal weather again favoured the Lyundalo Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club on Saturday when they held an 182 mile race on their circuit at New Lynn. Several riders met with misfortune. C. May and V. Harris punctured In the first lap, and E. W. Bates crashed. Hughes, sampling the course for the first time, quickly took the lead in the first lap and was never headed. Detailed results:—E. L. G. TAKAPUNA CLUB. The Takapuna Amateur Cycling Club held an open race for seniors and juniors combined. 22} miles over the lake circuit on Saturday for the King Cup. The race resulted in a win for a junior rider, M. Laurie, on 12 minutes, with P. Bowden (12m) second, and A. Chaplin (8m) third All the placed riders were juniors. Fastest time was recorded by B. Sharp (scr), who covered the course in 59.34. The winner's time was 70 minutes dead, Bowden's time being only one second more. The third man's time was 00.8. PAPATOETOE CLUB. The Papatoetoe Cycle Club held a 10-mile road race in perfect weather. A good field participated, and spectators -witnessed some fine racing. On the last lap the order was: Law-son, Hadfield, Crow, Gibbs, 25.52; A. Vazey, if. Bellini, D. White, K. Morris, L. Foubister, 20.20; E. Moflit, N. Wardell, 27.15; X. Bellini, S. Pinfold, R. L. Francis, 27.58. The finish resulted:— A. 11. Vazey (8.30), 34.35, 1; L. J. Foubister (2.0), 33.0, 2; O. H. White (2.0), 33.7 3; K. N. Hadfield (3.30). 34.39. 4. Fastest time: I. C. Bellini, 32.32. Won by a length, a wheel between second and third.

MANUKAU AMATEURS,

Bright sunshine favoured the riders in the Manukau Amateur Cycling Club's junior and senior road races, held at Avondale South. On the long climb on the back leg of the triangular course the riders had to pedal against a southerly breeze, and times were naturally slower. The nine juniors raced over four laps, 10 miles, and all except J. F. Archer, who retired on liis third lap, finished. ' Details.—Garry Leonard (3.15), riding time 31.43, 1; Arthur XV. J. There was a record entry of 28 seniors for the race over six laps, 15 miles. The finish was a keen one between Beart and McLellan, with a pack of over 12 riders only a furlong behind them. THAMES CLUB

The Thames Cycle Club held a 24 miles race on Saturday. Result: —\V. Burr, 0.0, 1; H. B. Cotterall, 0.0. 2; S. Jones, 5.0. 3. C. Ware, 1.0, gained fastest time in 72.0. The points trophy went to K. Edkins with 14 points.

LADIES' CLUB

There were five starters in the six-lap race of the Auckland Ladies' Amateur Cycling Club at Mount Albert on Saturday. Tnt'erest centred in the scratch riders because of the fact that Miss Helen Robinson was appearing on that mark for the first time. Miss Robjnson retired with cramp during the third lap. Miss Violet Baird, who won the race as well as gaining fastest time, regained her form of a fortnight ago. At the end of the fifth lap she had assumed the lead, and won by 27 seconds from Miss Kllie Swinburue. Miss Hansen rode steadily into third place.
