TAX NOT PAID IN.
EXPLANATION ACCEPTED,
A charge of failing to pay emergency unemployment charge within three days after its deduction caused Francis William Court to appear on summons in the Police Court yesterday.
Defendant explained that owing to illhealth he. was absent from his business, which was carried on by his son. The matter had been overlooked by his "soil, but as soon as defendant noticed the discrepancy he bought the stamps. The magistrate said the otTence was a serious one, but ho would accept defendant's explanation. Defendant was lined £1 and costs £1 12/.
