HALF-CROWN IN POUND.
THAMES BOROUGH RATES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. Speaking at a fire brigade function, the Thames borough commissioner, Mr. C. L. Grange, said he had given the fullest consideration to the striking of a rate of 2/6 in the f, but it was unavoidable. No one would be pressed unduly, and every consideration would be given to those in arrears to help them to pay.
