RIFLE SHOOTING.
'VARSITY BEATS THE NAVY. An interesting tennis match was shot at Penrose on Wednesday afternoon by eight men teams selected from the University and Naval Divisions, the former winning comfortably. The conditions of the match were:—Distance, 300 yards: (a) two compulsory sighters and live rounds application on No. 2 target, Oln bullse.ve: (b) ten rounds at snap-shooting disc, 22in circular target with 121n bullseye, three seconds exposure for each shot; (c) ten rounds rapid in 40 seconds, firer to be in standing "rest" position until target appears.
