The Water Board figures of new buildings erected in the city and suburbs during the current year show that the slump, which was in evidence during 1931, continued during the first six months of the current year, but there has been an upward tendency in recent months. The returns show 1443 new buildings erected at a cost of £1,800,472 this year, compared with 1021 new buildings costing £1,792,145 in 1931.
