Queensland's second innings against Victoria ((339), in the Sheffield Shield match, realised ori?y 74, O'Connor 36 not out being top-scorer, Ironmonger took seven wickets for 13 runs, Meetwood-Smith one for 40 and Alexander one for 5. The Queenslanders (who made 126 in the first innings) found Ironmonger unplayable owing to his spin and accuracy. Few hits were attempted off the veteran bowler, who covered himself with glory.
Victoria won by an innings and 139 runs.
