N.S.W. BEATS S. AUSTRALIA. ADELAIIDE, December.2o. In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia, New South Wales in the second innings, requiring 86 runs to win, had scored 75 for the loss of seven wickets when stumps were drawn yesterday. The not out batsmen, Oldfield and O'Reilly, obtained the requisite 11 runs to win, , although there were thrills in the final seven minutes of play. Grimmett dropped an easy catch from O'Reilly, and Walker almost stumped Oldfield. Wall took four wickets for 31 and Grimmett two for 41. N.S.W. won by three- wickets. The scores were: South Australia, 213 and 251; N.S.W., 379 and 86 for seven wickets.
