TROTTING.

WAIKATO MEETING

BRENTLIGHT'S DOUBLE. A WINNER DISTANCED. The Waikato Trotting Club's meeting held on Saturday drew a fair attendance, and, though a couple of very light showers fell during the afternoon, the sport provided was moet enjoyable. Small fields contested the Waikato and Farewell Handicaps, and both events were won by the hitherto consistent but somewhat unlucky Brentlight. In the opening event, the slow-class trot, Indolent finished first but was distanced for galloping at the start, and the race awarded to Xell Volo, the favourite.
