TAKAPUNA DANCE.

■ It lias become eo much the custom for the Takapuna-Bayswater Boating Club to hold a dance on the fifth of November that it is almost a tradition. So at the invitation of the commodore, flag officers and committee a large number ol dancers assembled at the clubhouse, Bayswater, on Saturday evening, ihe commodore, Mr. *H. G. Carr, and Mrs. Carr, with Mrs. Ward, the secretary, acted as host and hostesses. The ladies on the committee were Mesdamcs Oarr, Ward, Deacon, Williamson, Inkster, Braund, Verron, Wilson, Preston-Thoinae, Bach and Mies Marjorie Ward. Ibe supper tables were decorated witji bowk of "thrift" or eea-pink, with streamers of pink, white and blue. Amongst the dancers were:— Mrs. u. West, blue lace over pink georgette; Mrs. Collins, powder blue satin; Mrs. Davison, peach satin; Mrs. J. Edwards, apricot chenilled georgette; Mrs. Bennett, black taffeta; Mrs. Dryland, black lace; Mrs. Wilson, lilac flowered georgette; Mrs. Preston-Thomas, b hie flowered pique voile; Mrs. Hawking, blue floral marocain; Mrs. Carr, cherry Venetian lace; Mrs. Winks, black and "■old lame; Mrs. Wheeler, green georgette embossed with silver; Mrs. Deacon "•old satin; Mrs. Inkster, black brocaded satin; Mrs. Jack Dickie, white georgette; Mrs. Bach, grey lace and georgette ; Mrs. Ward, black ring velvet and not; JMrs. Braund, black crepe de chine; Mrs. Williamson, black chenilled georgette; Mrs. Verran, black marocain; Mise Ward, white crof.sbar crepon; Miss M.
