MR. ARTHUR W. HEDGES.
An old resident, Mr. Arthur "William Hedges, of Clonburn Road, died on November 1, aged 75 years. He had farmed in various parts of the Dominion. His parents arrived in New Zealand in 1856, and settled at Lower Hutt, where he was born. Afterward the family made a home at Sandon, and in 18S0 he purchased 200 acres of bush land in the Kiwitea district. He sold out in 100G, and took up a large block of land in the Rotorua district. Retiring four years later, Mr. Hedges had since lived in Auckland. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mr. H. Hedges, of Matiere; Miss C. Hedges, of Remuera; Mrs. W. H. Malins, of Huapai; Mr. N. W. Hedges, of Waitakaruru; Mrs. A. Gates, of Mititai; and Mr. B. Hedges' and Mr. L. Hedges, of Remuera. There are 12 grandchildren.
