MRS. JOHN RIGDEN.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.). WHANGAEEI, this day. An old identity of the Bay of Islands district, Mrs. John Eigden, of Opua, has passed away, leaving her husband and a family of six sons and two daughters, all of whom are married. Mrs. Rigden came to New Zealand with her parents in the ship Douglas arriving in Wellington in 1562. H er parents settled in the Wairarapa district and - she lived there until 1875, when she married Mr. John Eigden. In ISBI they came North and settled in the Bay of Islands. Mr. Eigden was in the railways for some time, but later took to farming, which occupation be followed until he retired sornc years ago.
