"DRASTIC AND UNFAIR."

RAILWAYMEVS CONCLUSION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Railway Superannuitants 5 Association, now meeting in Wellington, announces that, after examining exhaustively the Government Superannuation Funds Bill, it finds that the proposed legislation is of such a drastic nature, and so unfair in its incidence, that undue hardship would result were it given effect. The association points out that New Zealand is the only part of the British Empire even to contemplate breaking faith with its retired civil servants, and affirms that any savings that might be made by not honouring the present contracts would be of little consequence as compared with the worldwide loss of prestige and credit that would result.
