FATAL SHOCK.
MINER AT WARO. TWO OTHERS INJURED. FUSING OF BEIX WIRE. MAN KILLED OUTRIGHT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A miner was killed by an electric shock at the Waro mines, Hikurangi, this morning, and two others are suffering severely from shock. The three men, Messrs. Harry Parr, Bull Hart and W. Graham were, working in the mine when the -bell wire fused and all tliree received an electric shock. Mr. Parr received fatal injuries, but the other two men were more fortunate and were able to go home. It is understood the wire fell from the roof on to Parr and Hart, and that Graham received his shock in trying to lift the wire off the others with his shovel. Work was immediately stopped in the mine, which will be idle until an inspection has been made. Mr. Parr was a married man, aged about 3S rears. He is survived by his wife and two young children. He had been working in the Waro mine for tho past seven or eight years. He originally came from England.
