TRADE WITH SOVIET.

Motion in House of Lords to Stop Credits. DEBTS TO BRITAIN. LONDON, November 2. In the House of Lords to-day Lord Mount Temple moved that no credits should be extended to Russia and no commercial agreement be negotiated until the Soviet has taken some eteps to liquidate its debts to the British Government and citizens. He said the anti-British propaganda was increasing. The recent marches to London were not demonstrations by ordinary unemployed, but were organised with the aid of the Soviet's money. Lord Templemore said the Government could not accept the motion, which in no way would advance the mover's object. The question of debt and trade must be kept separate and treated on their merits. The Marquees of Londonderry said that while the Government had not weakened against the Soviet's reprehensible . attitude, nothing wae to he gained by the "big stick" policy. Lord Mount Temple, in withdrawing his motion, said: "If we applied the same methods to' Russia aa we are applying to Ireland we would meet with a large measure of success."
