NEARLY 70 YEARS.
Chairman's Association With Colonial Sugar Co. INTENTION TO RESIGN. (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. Mr. E. W. Knox, chairman of directors of the Colonial Sugar Company, contemplates retiring at the end of this year after 68 years' association with the company. Mr. Edward William Knox was born at Sydney 85 years ago. He is a eon of the late Sir Edward Knox, founder of the Colonial Sugar Refining Co., Ltd. Mr. Knox, who was a Fellow of the Senate of Sydney University, entered the employ of the Sugar Refining Company when a young man. He was general manager for many yeare, and 10 yeare ago was appointed chairman and managing director. Mr. Knox has made business visite to New Zealand and Auckland.
