STORMY HOLIDAY.
LABOUR DAY AT WHANGAHEI. MANY EVENTS POSTPONED. (By Tdlegrarih.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. Blustery weather, with heavy rain showers on Saturday, Sunday night, and yesterday morning, marred the Labour Day week-end, and many of the attractions organised for the occasion had to be postponed. Heavy rain on Saturday morning, with showers in the afternoon, caused a postponement of the Whangarei Tennis Club's opening function, as the courts were unplayable. The weather brightened on Sunday, and the beaches were well patronised. In the evening, however, showers again fell, and were followed yesterday morning by more rain. The fall registered up to yesterday was .48in.
