MR. PATRICK STARKEY.
One of the few remaining veterans of the 18th Royal Irsli Regiment, which did "ood service during the war with the Maoris, Mr. Patrick Starkey, died on October 7, at the home o his daughter, at the advanced age of 94n years. Mr. Starkey is survived by the following children:—Mr. William Starkey (Auckland), Mr. George Starkey (Christclmrch), Mrs. J. O'Connor and Mrs. W. Thorpe. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Monday morning at St. Benedict's Church, and the interment .will take place at Waikumete Cemetery.
