MARION NIXON AT ST. JAMES'.

"REBECCA OF SUNNYBROOK FARM."

Marion Nixon, whoso screen work of the past year include important successes in "After To-morrow" and "Amateur Daddy," makes what is heralded as her greatest single step toward stardom in her latest role, that of. "Rebecca" opposite Ralph Bellamy in '''Rebecca of Sunnybropk Farm," opening to-day at the St. James' Theatre. Having rieen to stardom in silent films, Miss Nixon's absence from the screen for two years necessitated her beginning all over again during the period just prior to the advent of talking pictures. This she did with great success. But she again forfeited it for a prolonged vacation in Europe, making the second time the diminutive star turned from the fame she had earned. Now, with what has been acclaimed as her most finished screen performance, she seems definitely headed for her goal, which is stardom for the third time, an ambition never before realised in Hollywood. Alfred Santell, who brought "Daddy Long Legs" so successfully to the talking screen, directed the picture. The long list of important supporting players includes Mae Marsh, Louise Closser Hale, Sarah Padden, Alan Hale and many others.
