LAWN TENNIS.
AVONDALE CLUB. "The club is in the happy position of starting the new season with assets exceeding- £50an(Tno liabilities,", stated the report presented at the annual meeting of the Avondale Lawn Tennis Club: It was stated tliat for the past season members' subscriptions had come in .well. After Mr, R. B. Hardy, president of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, had addressed the meeting, it was unanimously ueclded to, affiliate with the parent body. Two delegates. Messrs. O. Orrell nnd N. Robertson, were appointed to attend the next meeting. Twenty new members were elected. The following officers were elected : Patron, Mr. P. Adams: president. Mr. G. Orrell: hon. secretary nnd treasurer. Mr. N. Robertson : hon. auditor, Mr. A. .T. Graham: club captain. Mr. G. Orrell: match committee, Misses Potter. \, right and Mr. G. Orrell: ground committee. Messrs. C. Moore, Green and M. Moore: general committee. Misses "Potter. Wright. Porritt. Green, Myers, Messrs. M. Moore, C, Moore, Ritchie, Green and Meeks. 'The opening of the season was fixed for October 15. VICTORIA CLUB. ] -~. There was a large attendance at th« annual meeting of the Victoria Tennis Club at Devonport last evening. The following officers were elected :—President, Mr. K. Keeley; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Bell, R. Johnson and H. Bruce; secretary ami ireiisurer, Mr. E. Johnston : club captain. Mr. K. DoWc ; committee. Mesdames IJ.' Frjitcr, G. Rabe and R. McMasters, and Mr. J. A. .Ferguson; selection committee, Messrs. t>. X'ely, R. Doble, and B. Johnston; associjite delegate, iUr. R. Frater.
