GIVEN AWAY.

PROPERTY AS! GISBORNE. BUILDING SOCIETY BALLOT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) GISBORNE, this day. It is seldom that property is given away in circumstances such as occurred at the annual meeting of the Gisborne Co-operative Building Society. The chairman of directors, Mr. C. H. Ambridge, announced that in No. 3 group the society now owned a section on the corner of Childers and Chalmers Road. Its original value was £110, but the value now appeared in the balance-sheet at £50. The society did not wish to be a landowner, and it had been decided to ballot for the section.

Mr. H. A. Barton's was the first number drawn, and pending his acceptance or rejection other numbers were drawn.
