NEWMARKET LOAN.
PETITION OF NO AVAIL. . Despite a petition signed by 43 persons and the receipt of several letters protesting against the proposal to concrete Carlton Gore Road, the Newmarket Borough Council last evening decided to apply to the Loans Board for permission to raise a loan of £4700. The money is to be used for the concrete paving of Huntlv Avenue and Carlton Gore Road.
There was no discussion on the petition, and the Mayor, Mr. S. Donaldson, moved that the loan be forwarded to the Loans Board.
