Thirty-two members attended a. meeting of the Auckland Lay Readers' Association, held at Bishopscourt, Parnell. Archbishoi) Averill presided. Prior to the general meeting a special service was conducted by the Archbishop in the Bishopscourt Chapel. These special services have been held annually during the past few years, and are much appreciated by members of the association. Mr. W. li. Bedggood, of Paihia; Mr. J. B. Brown, of I'ukekohe; and Mr. G. J. Clapham, of Epsom, all of whom have completed 40 years' service as lay readcrs, were elected life members.
