Five R.A.F. Deaths in Two Days

In Britain. YEAR'S TOLL 27. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 9. Three Royal Air Force fatalities yesterday and one to-day increased the year's death roll to 27. Lieutenants D. Margetts, and J. Newshani, who were flying an aeroplane attached to the aircraft-carrier Furious, were killed in an accident off the northwest coast of Scotland. Squadron-Leader L. Elworthy was killed when his parachute failed, to open after he had jumped from a big bomber containing four officers. The engine stopped, but the pilot made a perfect landing.

Two 'planes attached to tl.e Digby flying school collided at Andover. Pilot Officers Bret and. Leggatt were killed. Both were due to go on leave to-morrow.
