HAMILTON DIVORCE CASE. HUSBAND'S PETITION SUCCEEDS. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Wednesday. A decree nisi was granted petitioner and judgment for the amount awarded was entered this afternoon in connection with the defended divorce petition in which, before Mr. Justice Herdman, Edward Young, hotel porter, Hamilton, sought a dissolution of his marriage with Lillian Olive Young on the grounds of misconduct. Stanley Williams, a carpenter employed by the Railways Department, was cited as co-respondent, and petitioner sought to recover £300 damages from Williams. In evidence, the respondent admitted that she stayed at a hotel mentioned by a previous witness on January 9. She was by herself. She said she could not explain tho hotel porter's evidence. She returned to Hamilton with Williams on January 11. After divorce papers had been served on her the petitioner called on her several times, and they resumed marital relations. Tho jury gave a unanimous verdict that misconduct had been committed between respondent and co-respondent, and that petitioner had not condoned his wife's misconduct. By a majority jof 10 to 2 the jury gave a verdict awarding petitioner £300 damages against respondent. Petitioner was given the custody of the children. The co-respondent was ordered to pay petitioner's costs on the highest scale.
