MAY TRY SUICIDE.
MAN WHO HOAXED *' LINDY." NEW YORK, May 20. John Curtis, who so cruelly hoaxed Lindbergh with fictitious stories of negotiations with the kidnappers of his child, is being closely guarded, in prison, against any attempt at suicide. His hoax lasted two months, and Lindbergh spent 20 days sailing with him, while Curtis conducted imaginary negotiations at sea. Lindbergh was actually aboard a boat with Curtis when he received a radio that the baby had been found dead five hours previously. The police now pin their hopes, in their search for the kidnappers, to evidence supplied by Dr. Condon, who paid the vain ransom on behalf of Lindbergh, and who says that he could recognise one of the men who received the money.
