WORK AT ELLERSLIE.

PURIRI PARK PLEASES.

The weather was fine for training at Ellenslie this morning, and several fast gallops were recorded. The course proper, with the poles about 25ft out, and No. 2 grass track, were open, the going being excellent. Course Proper. Patutalii and Spring Abbey were companions over a mile, with Latour to assist them over the last six furlongs. The full distance was covered in 1.48 4-5, •the last si" furlongs taking 1.22 3-5. Patutalii and Rose Latour were front at the finish. Te Money and Malikiil got to the end of seven furlongs in 1.33 4-5. There was little between them at the finish, Mahkill giving an encouraging display for a novice. Miss Sylvia and the Depredation gelding were timed to run four furlongs in 535." The latter was doing best at the finish. After beginning slowly from the six-furlong post Escalus was joined by Glenhaupo at the five, and came home in 1.21 2-5, the last five taking 1.6 1-5. No. 2 Grass. After trotting once round on the tan Sir Mond worked over six furlongs, running the distance comfortably in 1.26 3-5. Karangapai was holding Desert Star safely at the finish of six furlongs, the first three taking ?Bs, and the full distance 1.17 3-5. Grand Spirit, Golden Spahi, Stimulant and Marching Song finished as named at the conclusion of half a mile run in 50s. The last-named was eased up half-way down the straight. Titanette, carrying a good weight, strode over half a mile in 555. Royal Gallant, who looks improved after his racing at Thames, reeled off four furlongs in 49 4-5s Excella Tea was timed to complete a round in 1.48 3-5, the last six furlongs taking 1.20 2-5. One of the fastest sprints registered this season over six furlongs went to Puriri Park, who, with Hampton Park to assist him over the last five, ran the distance in 1.14 4-5, Hampton Park's time being 1.2 2-5. Puriri Park carried a very light boy, but nevertheless it was a first-class effort. Hampton Park also went well, being right up at the finish. Merry Lu completed five furlongs in 1.5 2-5. She was stopping a bit at the finish. Over a similar distance Marchetts registered 1.5, the last half-mile taking 50 4-ss. Great Emblem had a shade the better of Operatic at the conclusion of six furlongs, which was traversed in 1.16 3-5. This is a useful gallop for these two maidens. On the tan Ruling King worked over seven furlongs, traversing the last six in 1.22 4-5. This gelding is working much better than he has done for some time past. Pal was going easily throughout to run half a mile in 555. The Jack Jumper .(Lark) was schooled over a couple of pony hurdles twice, giving a safe display. Others to do useful tasks were Click | Clack, Claremore. Vandyke, Glenotus, | Dominican, Lady Derision, Silene, Rorpan 1 Mascot, Psychologist and Golden Wedding; I who is temporarily attached to E.
