The weather was fine for training at Ellenslie this morning, and several fast gallops were recorded. The course proper, with the poles about 25ft out, and No. 2 grass track, were open, the going being excellent. Course Proper. Patutalii and Spring Abbey were companions over a mile, with Latour to assist them over the last six furlongs. The full distance was covered in 1.48 4-5, •the last si" furlongs taking 1.22 3-5. Patutalii and Rose Latour were front at the finish. Te Money and Malikiil got to the end of seven furlongs in 1.33 4-5. There was little between them at the finish, Mahkill giving an encouraging display for a novice. Miss Sylvia and the Depredation gelding were timed to run four furlongs in 535." Puriri Park carried a very light boy, but nevertheless it was a first-class effort. Hampton Park also went well, being right up at the finish. Merry Lu completed five furlongs in 1.5 2-5. Pal was going easily throughout to run half a mile in 555. The Jack Jumper .(Lark) was schooled over a couple of pony hurdles twice, giving a safe display.
