The Australian Office is receiving many inquiries from holders of Australian internal obligations concerning the conversion loan. The banks too are showing great interest. The Australian Office advises assent to the conversion loan, though some individuals here are registering dissent by cablegram.
A message from London states that the financial editor of the "Daily Telegraph" expresses satisfaction at the progress of the Australian loan conversion scheme. He says Australia's position has improved enormously in the past few months.
Meanwhile Australia is preserving her credit abroad by not asking foreign bondholders to accept, a curtailment of interest. Apparently the danger ef default is now definitely . averted and holders of Australian stock can continue confidently to retain their holdings.
