ESSAY PRIZES.
HOLY NAME SOCIETY,
Dr. Liston, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Auckland, at a concert held in the Town Hall last evening, presented prizes won in the Holy Name Society's annual essay competition on the ideals of the organisation. Results were as follow:— Seniors: Sheila Moriarty, St. Mary's Convent, Hamilton, 1; Gabrielle Marshall, St. Mary's College, Ponsonby, 2; Nola Robertson, Manurewa, 3. Intermediate: Margaret Hogan, St. Mary's Convent, Hamilton, 1; Helen Cooper, St. Joseph's Convent, Grey Lynn, 2; Mary Kearns, St. Mary's College, Ponsonby, and Kathleen Cunningham, St. Patrick's School, Wellington Street, 3. Juniors: Nora Hansen, Marist Mission School, Mount Albert. 1; Mary Stapleton, St. Mary's Convent, Hamilton, 2; Nellie Kearns, St'. Patrick's School, Wellington Street, 3. The winners of the first prizes received gold medals.
