GLARING HEADLIGHTS.
MAIfT MOTORISTS STOPPED,
TRAFFIC OFFICERS "DRIVE."
Officers attached to the City Council's Traffic Department were busy last evening stopping many motor cars with flarin? headlights. The drivers' names were "taken, and they were handed a printed slip notifying them to attend the A.A.A. light-testing station within the next 24 hours in order to have their lights adjusted to comply with the regulations. Glaring headlights are particularly dangerous in wet weather, when the beams are reflected back from the pavements. In order to minimise the danger, the traffic officers and the A.A.A. are co-operating, and last night'e '"drive represented their first effort. A.A.A. patrols will be on duty at Cadman's parking station, Grey Avenue, for the next few days from fe.3o a.m. to S p.m. The lights of A.AA. members' cars will be adjusted free of charge, but non-members will be charged 1/. Motorists who were stopped last night must have their lights adjusted withm the next two days in order to avert prosecution.
