STOCK FOODS.
REMOVAL OF DUTIES SOUGHT. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Keporter.) WELLINGTON", this day. 'A monster petition was presented to the House yesterday by Mr. C. A. Wilkinson (Independent, Egmont) from 109 dairy companies of Taranaki requesting- Parliament to remove the import duties on wheat and on stock foods. The removal, states the petition, would materially help farmers generally to improve their position, as these duties are materially interfering with farmers' development of an export trade in 'bacon, pork and eggs, which is desirable in view of the low prices of other produce.
