WORLD'S RESERVES.
Minimum reserves of copper ore in the world are estimated at 3,888,500,000 tons, with a metal content of 88,542,000 tons. The largest company in the list is in Chile with reserves of 1,000,000,000 tons, averaging from 2.12 to 4 per cent copper. There are several large companies in North America, Chile and South Africa. llie only Australian company mentioned in a list of copper producing mines compiled by the "New York Mining Journal is Mount Lyell, with ore reserves of 11,000,000 tons, averaging from 1 to 4.51 per cent ot copper, 'givj,ng a metal content ot -Io,UUU tons of copper. The richest ore shown in the list is that of Rhodesian Congo Border Concessions, which have proved 60,000,000 tons of ore, averaging 8 per cent copper.
