REDUCED ALLOCATIONS.
STATEMENT BY MINISTER. 'BASED ON LAST FOUR WEEKS' PROVISION FOR EXTENSION. (By ."Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) ' .WELLINGTON, this day. . In. reference to the reduced allocations, the rMinister of Labour, the Hon. S. G. Smith, states that all local unemployment committees were given an allocation for this week based on the actual expenditure during the. last; four weeks under No. 5 scheme. It was provided, the Minister said, that if this grant proved absolutely insufficient to meet the actual expendi-' ture for the current week a supplementary allocation could be applied for. He understood the position was met by that proviso.
