Mrs. Pv. B. Cranwell, of Hamilton, is away for a visit to Napier. Mrs. Lang, of Taranaki, is the guest of Mrs. N. G. Sutherland, Hamilton. Mrs. E. M. Cowie has returned to Khandallah, Wellington, after staying in Auckland and Hamilton. Mrs. J. A. D. Ritchie, of Waitetuna, is on a visit to relatives in Wellington. Mrs. J. C. Clachan. of Claudelands, is away in Masterton. Mrs. E. E. Gresham has returned to Hamilton, after being away at Hokitika. Mrs. W. H. Hulse, of Hamilton, is away on a holiday trip to the South Island. Miss G. Cussen, of Hamilton, is spending a holiday at Rotorua. Miss E. Guy has returned to Wellington, after spending a holiday in Hamilton. Mrs. J. Christie has returned to Wellington, after spending the summer months in Hamilton with Mrs. N. Blomfield. Mrs. W. Curry has returned to Nelson from a visit to friends in Hamilton. Mrs. J. C. Gray, of Hamilton, is visiting relatives in Auckland. Mrs. O'Riordan, of Auckland, after staying in Cambridge, has left on a visit to England. Mrs. Hopkins, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. E. E. Gresham, River Road, Claudelands. Miss H. Chitty, of Brooklyn, Claudelands, is on a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. R. Cobbc, of the "Chateau," is staying in Hamilton.

A kitchen evening wa<3 given for Miss E. Shadbolt, prior to her marriage, in Toorak Hall. The hostesses were Mrs. T. Tync and Mrs. Gibson. A delightful (bridge afternoon Avas given iby Mrs. V. G. Sutherland at her home in Hamilton on Thursday. The drawing-room was artistically decorated with autumn foliage and. chrysanthemums. A surprise party, organised by Miss M. Mears, was taken to the home of Mrs. 0. R. Farrer, River Road, Claudelands, on Friday night. The large' verandah was used for dancing, and the young people had a merry tims. Mrs. Farrer were a deep blue georgette; Miss D. Wright, primrose taffeta; Miss P. McWilliam, peach ninon.
