HOME ECONOMICS.
The Home Economies Association, of Christchurch, which lias had such a long and successful career, held its annual meeting last week. The report showed a most successful year's work.. This had included practical demonstrations in all things pertaining to the house—cookery, home decoration, home nursing, gardening, music in the home, care of the" feet, millinery, and needlecraft. The year's syllabus had concluded with an enjoyable At Home, which was well attended. It was intended to extend the work of the association into the country and suburbs this year in order to help women who, on account of the distance or family ties, were unable to attend the regular evening meetings in Christ-i-hurch. This had been done very successfully in Dunedin by the branch of the- Home Economics Association through the help of funds from the Carnegie Trust for Extension Work. Miss Stops showed specimens of handwork: done by women in the, country districts.
