LOCAL BODY MEETINGS.
ONE TREE HILL COUNCIL. The One Tree Hill Borough Council met last evening, the Mayor, Mr. J. S. Hardwicke, presiding. Building Activity.—The building inspector, Mr. P. H. Hollingsworth, reported that since February 27 five building permits had been issued to the total value of £1006. Since the beginning of the year the value of buildings authorised was £ 1333. Street Improvement Loan.—The Local Government Loans Board advised that one of the chief reasons why it had decided not to sanction the council proposed £125,000 street loan was that, owing to the existing economic conditions, the present Was not a suitable time to proceed with the scheme. The whole matter would be held in abeyance until conditions improved.
