DESPERATE UNEMPLOYED.
APPEAL FOR WORK
POSITION IN DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUXEDIN, this day. The' Mayor to-day wired.to the Unemployment Board that ho understands that there are 700 men on the unemployed register. The position is desperate. The men prefer work to sustenance, and it is suggested that the board authorise at least £2000 for work. The relief depot is closed a,nd consequently the men are starving.
