ONE TREE HILL BOROUGH.
The" One .Tree Hill Borough Council has received; £281 as its first quarterly instalment of the petrol tax. At last evening's meeting of the board the town clerk, Mr. 'A* Le.e.se, isaid the council would receive about £1400 ( from the petrol tax next year. The council granted permission to W. J. Wheeler and Sons to increaso tho speed of their* buses trom 21 to 25 miles an hour. The traffic ihspector started tfeat the increase would not cause damage to the , roads.
'! In 'connection with road improvements the council authorised Mr. E. V. Blake, consulting engineer, t° continue the preparation of plans.
Tree-planting .in Allison Aveiiue and Lewin, Pukenui, Claude, Golf, Gladwin, Waiatapu and Ranfurly Roads -wos reported by .the foreman.
