TAKAPUNA CONCERT.

An enjoyable concert was held, in the Palladium Theatre, Takapuna, last evening. The orchestra, conducted by Miss'sM. Daly, and consisting of Misses Ward and Houten (piano), Miss G. Dwyer, .Masters V. Cooper, K. Morrison, C. Houten, and N. Zambuca (violins), Messrs. C. Warman and S. Higgms (cornets), C. Nicholson (trombone), T. Pocock (banjo), and M. Finlay (drums) played an overture. Other items on the programme wereit Highland dance. Miss K. Reid, and Irish J%, Miss M. Needham, both accompanied by Piper McCoomb; character dance, Miss Edna Tullett; Maori songs and hakas, St..Peter's College Boys. The children from the Convent School and Boys' Orphanage gave soma very enjoyable items. The following girls sang the Stein song and "Pagan Love " song in costume:—Misses N. Richardson, M. Swann, l>. >. Lawrence, ■ L Grinteiyß. and G. Andrews,. J. Mascelle, Mi Olson, and J , , Knight. Mr. and Misses J. and J. Mascelle gave a .couple.' of humorous items, and a violin sold was rendered by Miss Grace Dyer; pianofo>-te solos and-duets'by Misses Johnston and Lyons; recitations, Misses ?E. Cork,- M Needbam, and R. Christie. The accompamsto; were Misses Daly, Johnston, and 0. Woods. The performers were presented ' with bouquets, and then a dance was held. ■ . .
