MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD. Mr. E. F. Jones presided as the meeting of the Mount Eoskill Road Board last night. Mount Albert Eoad.—lt was agreed that the tar-sealing of Mount Albert Roail shonld be continued only as far as the intersection of Road, as the finance committee is considering a scheme for the permanent construction of Mount Albert Road from Sandringham Road to Vincent Road, and will shortly present a comprehensive report. Winstone Park. : —It was agreed that, Mr. George Winstone, sea., or one of 'Ids family, should be associated with rhe Monnt Roskill Domain Board and that the reserve he known as the Winstone Park. It was resolved to take legal advice _to ascertain what funds will he available for expenditure on the area. Remission of Rates.—The Sboard decided that it -had no power to remit a portion of the rates owing hy two ratepayers, aa requested. Seymour Park. —The board accepted the offer or Mr. A. O. Knight 4o lease Seyniour Parfc for 12 months at £26 per annum, plus water rates, and for a further term if desired by the "tenant with the right to terminate the lease with one month's notice irom the board. Rates.—On tlie motion of the chairman it was resolved that the rates as presented to the board at the previous meeting be etrnck for tie year April 1, 1930. to March 31, "1931,-frith five per cent rebate on all rates paid within one month from the date of demand. Commercial Air Port.—Messrs. S. I. Goodall and J. Donald were appointed to represent the board at the airport conference. The delegates were instructed to vote against the proposal. Sinking Ftfml Commissioners.—Messrs. E F Jones, S. I. Goodall and J. The Northcote Borough Council met last night, the Mayor, Mr. A. E. Greenslade, presiding. - Building Permits.—A letter wasTeeeived from the New Zealand Institute ot Architects, who stated that in some instances drawings and, specifications required to be deposited with the local authorities for building permit purposes, were not as adequate or satisfactory as they shonld be in the interests of the public. The institute desired to co-operate with the local authorities on the subject. The letter was receivedCollection Day.—Permission was granted to the St. John Ambulance Association to hold a street collection in the borough on !Friday, October 3. Highway Subsidies.—The amounts to be voted on the main highways in the borough for this year, were received from the District Highways Council, Whangarei They were: £823 on the Uorthcote Road, and £107 on Orewa Road.- The Highways Council stated that the amounts would include the unspent balances of the borough's authorities, as at March" 3L The town clerk was instructed to write for further information. Bus Stops.—A letter from the Waitemata Bus and Transport Company, Ltd, stated that the manager had been instructed to confer with the local traffic inspector with the view to submitting a list of suitable bus stops.
