A crowd which rivalled in size that which assembled outside the Savoy Hotel to witness the arrival of Miss Amy Johnson waited in pouring rain yesterday for tlie appearance at St. Peter's Church, London, of a midget bride, Miss Winnie Yelland, 43 inches in height. People packed the street to such an extent that the limousine, from which the bride could scarcely see out of the window, was hemmed in and could not proceed for some time. Other cars contained members of the theatrical troupe of midgets of which the bride is a member. Notwithstanding the fact that Miss Yelland wore high-heeled shoes and a fashionable bead crown her head did not come up to her bridegroom's waist. His name is Jimmie Mac and his height is 71 inches. He is a comedian. At the wedding breakfast the bride cut the cake, which was 14 inches taller than herself. She is the daughter of a six-foot Devonshire man and has maintained the family by giving male impersonations at music halls, since her father was killed in the war. The principal bridesmaid was Little Lady Godiva." Born in Coventry and aged 19, she stands 34 inches high—only two inches taller than General Tom Thumb's bride. The bride and bridegroom met at Blackpool, when she fell into a tank at a performance and Mac jumped in and pulled her out.
