BUDGET PROTEST.
States' Deputation to Labour
Prime Minister.
AUSTRALIA DISTURBED.

CANBERRA, this day.
A deputation representing all the States except Queensland, waited on the Prime Minister, Mr. J. H. Scullin, to protest against the taxation proposals of the Budget. The deputation suggested the appointment of an expert advisory committee to assist the Government in solving its problems. Mr. Scullin, in reply, stated that he appreciated the motives of the members, but did not favour the idea. .
