AUSTRALIA'S WHEAT HARVEST
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Mr. F. A. Crago, a Sydney flourmiller, who arrived by the Ulknaroa yesterday, says the wheat crop prospects in Australia are the best on record. This wjll 'help tlie country a little, Ibut while the quantity of the"crop and its quality should be satisfactory, the price may not be as cheering, in view of the big Canadian, United States and Argentine craps. The 2Vs per cent tax imposed by the Scoillin Government on wholesale sales as from August 1 is expected to 'have a bad effect, and in Mr. Crago's opinion, is certain to add to unemployment, but its effect will not be noticeable for a few weeks.
