DETROIT, July 23,
Gerald Buckley, radio political commentator, was assassinated by a tri'o of gunmen shortly after announcing that voters had removed from office the Mayor, Mr. Charles Bowles, who was charged with gang alliances. The slaying, which , is: the climax to three weeks of gangster killings, has precipitated an extensive drive against underworld activities.
