AUCKLAND ROTARY CLUB.
SETTLEMENT OF LAND,
"Land Settlement" was tho subject for discussion at to-day's luncheon meeting of the Auckland Rotary Club in the Lewis Eady Hall under the chairmanship of President C. J. Tunks. Tho matter was introduced by Rotarian Charles Rhodes, and was subsequently spoken to by other members. Tho meeting considered the subject of such importance that it was decided to postpone the ordinary programme for next Monday in order that the same topic could be further discussed.
Amongst the visitors present at today's meeting were: Messrs. J. M. Thompson (Winnipeg), C. H. Page (Wellington), N. Fulton (Wanganui), R. Wallace (Napier), H. Valder (Hamilton), J. H. Mckenzie (Christchurch), and M. J. Suham (Wellington). The president referred to the recent death of a well-known American Rotarian, Dr. Otto Monson, who had headed the American delegation at the last Pacific Rotary Conference in Sydney, as well as tho New Zealand District Conference at National Park, and at his request members stood in silence for a few moments as a mark of respect to the deceased.
The president also referred feelingly to the unexplained disappearance of Rotarian W. D. Munns, and expressed the hopes of members that he would soon be restored to his home and friends.
