"SIX LIVES GONE."
"DREADFUL DISASTER." INQUEST OPENED AND ADJOURNED. COMMENT BY COEONER. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. "It is a dreadful disaster that has overtaken us," said the coroner, Mr. E. D. Mosley, at the inquest which was opened this morning and adjourned on the victims of the crossing smash. "I am sure," the coroner added, "that the public of New Zealand sincerely regret that it should have happened at all. It is hard to understand. Here are six lives of value to the community gone in a moment." Evidence of identification was then giveil.
