Explosion and Fire at Aerated Water Factory. BEER STRIKE COINCIDENCE. (Received 11 a.m.) BRISBANE, this day.

Residents of Mount Isa were awakened in the early morning by a terrific explosion at Biddle and tf Wilson's aerated water factory. The fire which followed completely destroyed the premises. The factory had been declared "black" as a result of a beer strike. EX-PRIMATE'S BLESSING. LORD DAVIDSON'S LAST WORDS LONDON, May 2G. "May God give you judgment," were Archbishop Lord Davidson's last words, when before subsiding into unconsciousness he placed his hand on his successor's head, and gave him his blessing, at Dr. Cosmo Lang's request. Dr. Lang, when preaching yesterday at the Chapel Royal, said large-minded-ness and charitableness were Lord Davidson's outstanding merits. Most preachers to-day, irrespective of creed and including Jewish rabbis, paid tributes to Lord Davidson's saintliness. In connection with the Jeath of Archbishop Lord Davidson, a memorial service will be held in St. Mary's Cathedral on Friday, at 9.30 a.m. The Vicar-General will give a short address. At the Waikato Diocesan Girls' School, to-day .a warm ..tribute, to the memory of Lord Davidson, formerly Archbishop of Canterbury, was paid by the Gover-nor-General, Lord Bledisloe. ■ Lord Bledisloe said Lord Davidson had been a close personal friend of his, and by his mind and speech had shown himself to be a far-sighted statesman and a broad-minded Christian leader. Lord Davidson had enjoyed the supreme respect of all creeds. His Excellency said his hearers would agree that all Christendom would mourn the loss of such a man.
