SUCCESSES ABROAD.
It jvas decided at n meeting of the University College Council yesterday to send ■ letters of congratulation to New Zealand scholars who have gained honours in England.
Mr. D. Brown has, had the degree of Doctor of Philosophy conferred on him at the University of Bristcl, and Mr. W. F. -■ Short, ; has taken his doctorship of science-at* the-University ,of Manchester.
