REAR-ADMIRAL BYRD.
TALK TO SCHOOL CHILDREN. DOMINION-WIDE BROADCAST. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent;) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Rear-Admiral Byrd has consented to give a special broadcast on Tuesday next for the benefit of the school children of New Zealand. He will speak from 2.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m. from one of the stations and there will be land line connection to all other main stations, Including 2YB, New Plymouth. He will give a talk on incidents of his career. Co-operation between the Radio Broadcasting Company and the trade throughout the Dominion had been promised for facilitating the reception in all possible schools, in order to make the broadcast a successful and memorable one for the school children of the Dominion. This special broadcast has been consented to by Rear-Admiral Byrd as a special effect to recognise the hospitality extended him by the Dominion. Rear-Admiral Byrd lias also consented to show 400 ft of film taken in the Antarctic and to deliver an address in aid of the obstetrical chair fund.
